HELLO THERE! Thank you for visiting my blog.
I’m Kathryn Ewton, and I am a portrait photographer located in Mansfield, TX specializing in maternity, newborn, family and senior portraiture. I shoot portrait sessions on-location throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, in studio, and in-home lifestyle sessions. I enjoy using both natural and studio lighting during my portrait sessions. I am a Texas native, born and raised in Houston, and I have lived in the DFW area since 2002, when I moved away from home to study at the University of North Texas. I look back on my transition from High School to College as an exciting milestone in my life–which is why I love providing Senior Portraits to my clients.
I am a mom to my adorable & precious 1 year old daughter, I have been married to my best friend for nearly 5 years, and we all love cuddling up on the couch with our dog Max. Our family enjoys gardening in our backyard, cooking (especially freezer crock pot meals), and going for walks together.
This blog tells the stories and milestones that my clients hired me to tell–whether it is sending off a high school senior to college, welcoming a baby into the family, or capturing the here and now for families. I enjoy creating portraits that families will enjoy and cherish for many years to come. I love showing relationships between parents and their children, siblings with one another, as well as between moms and dads. I have a pretty corny sense of humor that tends to help people enjoy a good laugh and relax around me. I enjoy going for walks in nature, whether it is along the shore of a lake or ocean–or along a trail through trees and wide open spaces. When I have downtime, I enjoy curling up with a good book, preferably historical fiction.
After struggling through infertility and then adopting our daughter, who was a micro-preemie, I have a tremendous respect for the miracle of life. Watching her grow and change these past several months, have made me appreciate just how quickly babies change and grow! We didn’t meet our daughter until she was 4 months old–at which point she weighed 6 pounds–and we only have 2 photos from before we met her. I literally grieved the fact that we don’t have many photos of our sweet daughter from before we met her–and I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience that grief and regret! I believe that my experiences have made me passionate about maternity and newborn photography, and inspire me to create beautiful portraits for my clients to cherish for years to come.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little more, I look forward to learning more about you and your family, and creating portraits to tell your family’s story!
